Echandia receives order from Ö-varvet for two battery systems
Echandia has received an order from Ö-varvet to supply two vessels, Älvsnabben 4 & 5, with battery systems to enable full electrical propulsion. The battery systems will each have a capacity of 496 kWh.
The total cost of ownership, combined with Echandias battery systems high level of safety and outstanding long lifetime were key factors in selecting Echandia as battery supplier.
The systems ordered will contain 16 battery strings per vessel and manage 18 cycles per day, 365 days per year with an expected lifetime of at least 17 years.
Electrification of the maritime industry is rapidly gaining traction. This order from Ö-varvet gives us further verification that our systems are a perfect match for vessels that require outstanding lifetime and safety in operations.
says Göran Fransson, CCO at Echandia.
