Echandia secures prestigious order from Marine Electricals (India) Limited

Echandia, the leading Swedish maritime battery system supplier, proudly announces the acquisition of a significant order from Marine Electricals (India) Limited. The order entails the delivery of six advanced battery systems to be installed in hybrid electric catamaran vessels. These vessels are designated for operation by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), navigating the inland waterways of Varanasi.

The heavy-duty battery systems are scheduled for delivery during the second and third quarters of 2024. The vessels, with a length of 24 meters, will be constructed by Hoogly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL) in Kolkata. Echandia's track record includes the successful delivery of similar battery systems for 23 modern electric ferries to the South Indian city of Kochi's public transport network.

Our systems have already proven their effectiveness in the field in India, and this order further solidifies the quality and trust in our solutions. The inherent safety, unsurpassed lifetime, and outstanding ability to fast charge make our systems the perfect fit for this kind of project.
